Course Description

In the computer world, Outlook is referred to as a PIM or “Personal Information Manager”.  It is commonly used for a scheduler, for contact list management, and for e-mail.  Those are the main things that this course will focus on.  Each of these tools offers very different things, but they all look and run in similar screens.  This is a potentially powerful program to add to your other desktop applications like Word and Excel.  Find out what Outlook can do for you!

Course Objectives

Ř      Get an understanding about what Outlook 2000 has to offer as far as its main features.

Ř      To develop a good working knowledge of the Folders is a key part of understanding and using Outlook.

Ř      Outlook can handle mail over a local area network (LAN) or by the Internet. Learn how to address and send mail to these different recipients, reply to messages, and manage them in folders.

Ř      Learn how to use Contacts effectively for e-mail or to integrate them with the other MS Office products like Word to perform mail merges.

Ř      Learn to utilize the Calendar as a scheduler. The Calendar can be used in a local area network by a large organization that wants to be able to see and make scheduling appointments for everyone.

Ř      The Notes and Journal are a couple of neat tools that you will enjoy as you use Outlook.  Find out how easy it is to make these features work for you.
