Course Description

This course is designed to enable the student to create a variety of publications using Publisher 2000.  This takes students beyond the basics by introducing features such as layout guides, the background, understanding frames, watermarks, etc.  The course includes hands on exercises and many valuable tips to make you a better desktop publisher.

 

Course Objectives 

  • To understand and to become comfortable with the Publisher screen and interface.

  • Learn how to create quick publications, using the Publisher design, color scheme, and layout wizards.

  • Learn to create your own publications from scratch by utilizing text frames, clip art, pictures, watermarks, and word art. 

  • Working with tables, lines, and the different shapes plus how to change these after is essential.

  • The students will get information about layering objects and how and when to make text frames become opaque for the desired results.

  • The end of class is a wrap up exercise where a student will try to put everything together that they learned that day.

Duration

The duration of the course is one day. This day begins at 8:30 am and ends at 4:30 pm.

Recommended Prerequisites

Windows ‘95 course or good experience already in the Windows 3.x/Windows ‘95 environment. Any past experience with graphics programs would be very beneficial.
