Course Description

The information highway is one the fastest growing areas in computers.  This course will give you some background information about the Internet and distinguish the Internet components from the World Wide Web.  You will get hands on use with the Microsoft Internet Explorer program, one of the world’s most popular web browsers.

Course Objectives

Ø     To provide first hand knowledge in an area that many people know very little about.

Ø      The World Wide Web has a lot of information.  Learn how to do some basic and advanced searching techniques and save some valuable time and frustration with searching.

Ø      Working with Favorites in IE Explorer, including how to organize the links, is an important part to working on the Internet.

Ø      Launching your E-mail program and how that is configured to work within Explorer will be addressed.

Ø    The Explorer program is much like the other web browsers in the market.  The student will be comfortable using other similar products after leaving this class.

            Half day

Windows ‘95/’98 course or good working knowledge in the Windows ‘95 environment.  Any past experience with graphics programs would be very beneficial.
