"Many of
today's youth have access to a computer at home and
often appear to have better proficiency than their
parents. If your children are like mine (ages 12
and 7), they are great with changing the screen,
changing fonts, and using MSN Messenger, but don't have
a lot of skills beyond that.
In schools, the
computer is most often used as an 'add-on' tool to
support kids with schoolwork, but it is not a special
item that they are specifically trained on using.
We believe there is much to gain by being trained how to
productively use software programs through structured
training and exercises."
