R & R Report Writer Windows - Level 1

Course Description

This course is an entry level course that guides users through the process of designing basic reports using the PC Accounting set of Credit Union data files.  Former R & R for DOS users who have not spent any time with the new Windows version will benefit from this course as well as those who have had limited exposure to the Report Writer Windows program.  The WYSIWYG feel and the Report Wizards make this program easy to jump into and start to use in a short time span. 

Course Objectives 

    Ø      To become comfortable with the Windows GUI interface of R & R for Windows. 

    Ø      Learn how to design reports using the Wizard and learn to design reports from scratch. 

    Ø      Learn how to change a report by adding in new fields and new line types and any other modifications to the content.

    Ø      Do basic printing plus turn out a multi column report and mailing labels.

    Ø      Learn the process of setting up a relational report that combines the data of more than one file.

    Ø      Learn to work with Queries, a process which enables the user to select certain records from the large data files.

    Ø      Learn to sort and group the report information into logical order.

    Ø      To be introduced to Total fields and the use of Group level breaks to prepare reports that provide summary information of numeric data

Recommended Prerequisites

A good working knowledge of Windows would be an asset. Previous experience with the R & R DOS will be beneficial.
